Medical Receptionist

Description:

Medical Receptionists assist patients, visitors, providers, and staff in a friendly and professional manner. They perform all duties efficiently and accurately, while maintaining a positive patient flow. The responsibilities of a qualified medical receptionist include, but are not limited to: answering and directing calls, scheduling appointments via telephone and in person, receiving and processing payments, taking messages and delivering them to the appropriate party with great attention to detail, operating standard office equipment,  and serving as an office liaison when required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize workflow according to immediate demands in a fast-paced environment

· Must maintain confidentiality of patient care and records

· Expertise in customer service

· Exhibiting a high level of quality through attention to detail

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

Description:

Ophthalmic technicians are intimately involved in healthcare delivery and assist the doctors in providing care to our patients through documenting medical histories, acquiring detailed descriptions of reasons a patient has come for an exam, checking vision, reading and obtaining glasses prescriptions, obtaining basic components of the intake exam, performing a wide variety of ophthalmic tests, and preparing surgical instruments. Additional tasks are performed and not limited to refilling prescriptions, calling patients with test results, sending and following up on referrals, filling out forms, and more.

Requirements:

· No prior experience is required.

· We are looking for individuals that like working directly with people and have an interest in eye care.

· Proficient typing skills are required to document findings in the electronic medical record.

· Over time, we encourage our technicians to further their skills by becoming a certified ophthalmic technician.

OPHTHALMIC MEDICAL SCRIBE

Description:

Ophthalmic scribes are typically individuals with prior ophthalmic technician experience whom possess more advanced typing skills and familiarity with ophthalmic medical terminology. Our scribes will work side-by-side with a provider to navigate patients through the clinic, document exam findings in real time, begin chart preparation before the provider sees the patient, help with ancillary testing and refractions, assist with procedures and much more.

Requirements:

· At least 1 year of prior ophthalmic technician experience with the ability to refract and acquire ophthalmic imaging (OCT, topography, visual field).

· Proficient typing skills (45+ words per minute) are required to document findings and plans in the electronic medical record.

· Our scribes are in the room with the doctors during procedures and assist by documenting, setting up procedure trays and grabbing additional items from supply during the procedure as needed. Prior experience with ophthalmic procedures is desirable, but not necessary.
